I also have George Stephenson as a distant, avuncular relative. I would like to see any family tree information, and can share what I have--there are some gaps in it. But, basically, part of the family left Britain and moved to North America (New York), where they continued built the street car system...married into the mayor's family, and so forth. Also evidently involved in railway bridge construction over the ST. Lawrence in Montreal. The family converted it's railway business to creating gun carriages for the Union during the civil war; we still have some nice Silver from Abraham Lincoln given as thanks for that. The business closed a long time ago, and we are now all mainly professionals, professors, etc. Interestingly many of us even look like him a good bit.
