Subject: Isaac Nichols

My brick wall is Isaac Nichols. He was born in a range from 1833 to 1844. I have different documents indicating the wide range of birth. His death certificate and obit states he was born in MD. His father's name was Isaac Nichols with no mother listed on death certificate. He went out west at an early age. Would like to know when, what wagon train he was on and what family members may have been with him. He was in Oregon, CA and WA. He was in the military. He married three times, first time to Jane Ennis 1860; they divorced a few years later. Second he married Mary E. Cramer Brown. They had one son, Fredrick, she passed away after two or three years of marriage. He next married Cordelia Crismon in 1874. Their first son was born in 1874, George. He married first two times in Oregon, third time in Eureka, Humboldt, CA. Isaac and Cordelia lived in Humboldt county, CA for a few years then moved to Smith River, Del Norte, Ca. There they had 12 more children. After the children were grown they moved to Coos County, Oregon. Isaac passed away in 1928 and Cordelia passed away in 1931. I have two of his marriage certifcates, Cordelia and Isaac's obits, many of his miliary affidavits. I would love to know where he was born, when he was born, who his parents were and why he came out west. Please help me break my brick wall! I thank you for any help you can give me. Thanks..Linda
