Now here's the curly one that I have hit wall after wall on, my mum's dad -

Oscar MECHAN
DOB 24 Feb 1910
Mother unknown
Father not recorded
Place of birth unknown
Lived with the John William EDWARDS family - details unknown

Oscar married in Feb 1928 to Thelma May RIDDLE had two children (I think?)
Divorced Thelma - not sure, can't find any record

Married my nana Violet Jean HOCKING in 1936 under then name of Keith EDWARDS, can't find marriage certificate
No legal record of change of name so don't know why he did unless he never divorced Thelma??!!

Serviced in WW2 under the name Keith EDWARDS have record of that.
Died in 2000 under the name Keith EDWARDS

If you can help with this mystery then my family especially my mum would be eternally grateful.
