Truly outstanding defensive effort tonight by the team mixing match up zone at times with strong man to man defense. Defense created some offense and it was enough to pull through. Nice job game planning by the coaches and executing by the team. Putting Ryan Bacon at times on a penetrating guard disrupting Iona's flow was a very nice move similar to what he did in the Marist game.
C.J. Reed was not suited up tonight but was in the crowd. Appears Mumford is gone. kudos to the staff and team for the fine second half of the season. Let's put the finishing touch on it and win Sunday to avoid the PIG.Would be a nice cap off to the year.
Also must comment on the outstanding play of Nick Leon in the second half and under pressure at the point down the stretch. The improvement in his game over the course of this year has truly been a pleasure to watch. Wesley was red hot in the first half made some great shots, held scoreless in the second half when hampered by fouls but very nice overall game.
Shot blocking presence of Ryan Bacon truly a force underneath and anchors the defense allowing our guards to overplay the passing lanes a bit knowing if they get beat on a drive Bacon is there to close it down.
