Round up the usual suspects. Sooner or later SPC will get it right,or am I too optimistic?

Agree with all of the above.

#1) Agree with jajk on Gooding and Bacon. Posted several games ago that Akheem had a different "look" after starting the season off very poorly. We all know his limitations but he would bring so much as a 10-15 minute man on an upper tier MAAc team. A defensive stopper, open court/running player and rebounder/hustler for his size. What's not to like? Also feel as strongly as jajk on Bacon. While he also has little or no offense facing the basket (scores on put-backs or backing down his man) he will become even a greater force if only he had some help down low. Freelancing is his game.

#2) Agree with figgy on most of his post also. I would only add that we have no offensive firepower other than Jenkins and Leon. Not only can't they do it all by themselves but shooting wise both are not having good years. Note that our radio announcer made an interesting point when he commented that all five Siens players can shoot and score. Also quite true for their injured center Rossiter who I watched many times in high school. Criticize the plays and/or the guards but we have few players who can score on a consistent basis even if open.

3) That comment leads into Loyal's post which he's been preaching almost all season (and he happens to be right). We do not have five starters of MAAC level caliber. Even Gooding and/or Costner while they would make excellent, even terrific, role players are not 30 minute per game players. Now we can debate talent, recruiting, difficulties in attracting the type of player we want all day long but the fact remains that we do not have the players. Blame the staff, blame recruiting, blame coaching but unless you have the horses you are not going to win on a consistent basis. As Loyal states we do have some talented players and may be just two away from being very competitive but unless we find those two we are what we are.

"We are what we are". What we are and what we have been is terrible. So far it looks like that is what we will be for at least 2 more years or so. Whatever SPC is doing is not working and until they change their commitment we will never be much better. The talent level is bad and was greatly overrated by the coach and most fans. Then you throw in Dunne, who selected these players and then does INO a mediocre at best job of coaching them and you have the recipie for failure, which is what our program right now is, a failure with little or no help in the forseeable future.
