Siena is now ranked 18th in RPI. Must be one of the highest ever in the MAAC this late in the season.

Nice post FOR the Siena board or the MAAC board which is really the other Siena board . As Siena's record shows , it signifies zippo . I give them credit for doing all they have had to do thus far in the MAAC . But as far as bathing the MAAC in glory , just the opposite is true for this " scary good " team . They tossed up all over themselves in representing the MAAC in their OOC ; first MAAC team to go 0 for the Old Spice.

For their fans who want to banish the founding member Peacocks from the MAAC , remember the Peacock team that won the MAAC and then the next season beat Seton Hall , Alabama and Wichita State ( that name must be familiar to saintsfans ) on the road and not in the OS neutral court conditions . And that was under a new coach ! Those were tough kids . That 18 RPI doesn't prove in anyway that the current siena team (excluding RR ) has a right to be called as tough as that edition of the Peacocks .

just one other quick point on that Peacock team versus the current Siena squad . That Peacock team going through a coaching transition also went to Kansas as did the Siena team this year . Although losing eventually by a wider margin than Siena did this year , they played a much tougher , much more experienced NBA loaded Kansas squad right from the opening tip . They did not get totally overwhelmed by a 23-0 run early game run like Siena did by a much younger and inexperienced Kansas team of this year . For those Siena fans who like to brag that the only team that deserves to be mentioned with their team this year is the MAAC LaSalle teams , I would love to have seen that SPC edition play this year's saints . In fact , I look foward to this year's improving edition giving the saints more than they want at Yanitelli . This year's siena team may indeed do what their fans projected but not fot the reason that most of their know-little fans predicted . Rossiter is more important to that team than any of the other good but overrated fab four .

Siena did not get "totally overwhelmed" by the 20-1 run Kansas put on them. In fact, Siena cut the lead to 9 by the end of the half and came within 4 with approximately 3 minutes to go. I cannot speak on the SPC/Kansas game but I saw the Siena/Kansas game and can say objectively, that Siena outplayed Kansas over the last 30 minutes.
