It IS fun to watch the Peacocks now,as compared to their dismal games in December, like Monmouth and Wagner.
For a while,it's mostly about player development and team improvement and being competitive, but given the effort put out game after game,we all would like to see the players rewarded with a few more victories. They deserve it.
I've always said how the game is viewed changes dramatically as a result of one hit or miss. The countless times we missed on an offensive rebound or Loyola's round-the rim-off the glass -and-in three at the end of the half made all the difference.
I trust in the long run the number of tight games they have been in will ultimately toughen and strenghten these warriors.
Still no word on where Reid was??

Watched on MASN. Reid i was told by someone there was at the game, never took off his sweats so no doubt also a transgression of team rules like Leon who didn't play the first 8 minutes, since Kabongo played quite a bit in his absence.Reid might have helped a bit as Kabongo was active on the boards but couldn't score on putbacks two or three times from point blank range.
I thought the MASN announcers and Kevin Grevey in particular were quite fair including pointing out a couple of muggings on Leon where no foul was called. One was particularly egregious as he dribbled the ball out of bounds on a drive after being tripped to the floor with no call.
Announcers were high in praise of Leon, they called him best one on one player on the floor including Barney as well as the Peacock front line which dominated the boards.Talked about the athleticism of Bacon,Hill who they called jumping Jack Hill and Gooding.
Also showed stats that show the Peococks near the top of the league in a number of defensive cateories including scoring defense ist, blocked shots and steals both in top three. Also Bacon leads confernce in blocks.
Noticed that the Peacocks played a tough matchup zone on Barney which was effective. Barney broke out a bit in the second half and finished with 17 points but let's not forget this kid just hung 41 on Canisius and 40 on NJIT.Loyola hasnt lost since we played in Jersey City.
We're due for a few wins with this defensive effort. If Jenkins could only buy a jump shot or two to compliment Nick we might have been a mid pack MAAC team. This accentuates our calls for another scorer/shooter with one of the two remaining ships for next year.
