For one who claims to be balanced in their opinion (a joke) and continually criticizes others I find your one-sided diatribe interesting. Sure there was greed on Wall Street but you make no mention of those small time "entrepreneurs" who applied for mortgages with little or no money down, participated in lying on their mortgage applications, as well as those who decided to play the house flipping game while gambling with other peoples money.

Do some research on the role of the above mentioned Chris Dodd and Barney Frank in forcing FNMA and FRE to make/buy loans that were doomed to failure. Yea, the executives of those companies were the outright crooks but the roles of Dodd and Frank were equally guilty. Unfortunately, many in the American public are more interested in blustery sound bites than knowing the real story. It is also becoming part of our mindset to blame the other guy, "it's not me philosophy".

Bottom line is that there is plenty of blame to go around, that is, for someone who is balanced. Sure there was, is, and will be plenty of greed at the top but it is equally true for many at the bottom. Woe is me is replacing the American work ethic and success story. The housing crisis developed exactly because of greed on both ends.To blame one and not the other is postering which is what many in Congress and some on this Board do quite well.

how supposed intelligent people have such shallow nerves. You say I am one sided, yet fail to take on Cindy's post as one sided. Mine was nothing more than a response to balance the issue, but I understand yours and others failure to see that. I never presented the population as honest nor did I defend the Democrat participation in the Fannies. In fact I only preach some rebalancing of our structure and the a belief that a government has a responsibility to provide for certain basic needs. Health care, education, some form of housing ( not necessarily home ownership) expressing this view seems to threaten so many here that one wonders if they really care about this country.

When you boil it down their is a common opinion that there are no honest people around and they are all bad. so don't do anything because it is too hard (nee Sludge). All I can say that the vitriolic and misdirection response show how shallow those people really are. They are so afraid of a phrase " spread the wealth" or distort a word " socialist" as it would appear we are in a horror movie where everyone is running around with torches and yelling "MONSTER MONSTER".
