Not surprising, since coaches who vote are more likely to remember a player who has hurt them in a loss rather than one who played well against them.
Also two of Jenkins best games, where he piled up the threes,7 and 9, were against non-conference foes, Rutgers and BU.
What's important is that we appreciate his value and that he continues to improve.

MAAC has to be the only league in America where someone can lead the nation in scoring and not get at least a share of POY.

Charron Fisher joins Keekee (twice) as a national scoring leader who didn't make POY that year.

Worst was when Keekee led the conference in scoring but didn't make 1st team all-MAAC in his freshman year.

Tim, wasn't KeeKee second to Flores in scoring that year? I think it was 24.7ppg for Flores to 24.2ppg for KeeKee. I'll check my media guide when I get home.

You might be correct Pete. I was writing off the top of my head and it was five years ago, so I could be wrong. I remember the scoring race between Keekee and Flores was very close. It may even have been so close that they reversed places when Flores played more postseason games.

I remember that the sportswriters that cover the MAAC (mainly the ones in Albany) thought it was a travesty.

One of the Albany guys did an off-the-record survey of the coaches and several of them said their sole reason for leaving Clark off was that he was a freshman.
