^The ghost-hued femme stretches out, long strides bringing her to the sanctuary. Heavy breathing and foam indicate a long, tiring journey for the little desert mare. She looks about her at the horses, only one farmiliar, the great black who was a friend to her once-mistress, Shah. Small, concave lobes pricked, the alabaster equine emits a nicker from flaring crimson nares. Tucking her teacup muzzle to her wide girth, neck arched in splendor, she called again to the one known as Shetan. Launching forth upon powerful hindlegs, she lashed out at air, muscular haunches bunched for the spring foreward. Instead of simply falling, she leaped forth, kicking up her heels in a show. Finally stopping, she turned and made for the Oasis, where her mistress waited...^
