Subject: Gore v. Wilder

Is Martin Gore the true genius behind depeche mode? What was Wilder's song-writing contributions versus Gore's? On the song's attributed to Gore, was it more of a Gore/Wilder collaboration?

I read that Wilder partly left the band because of a lack of recognitiom. How much truth is in that?
