Subject: new puppy

I just got a puppy weiner dog and he's about 11 weeks old. I've had him for almost 4 weeks now and training him has been very, very hard. He just doesn't want to listen. And I know that he is a smart dog and he knows what he's doing, he's just very hard-headed. He'll go outside to potty when "HE" wants to, not when we want him to. He'll also chew on us, the ground, the carpet, the furniture and when we throw him his toys, or tell him no and give him a toy, he just goes back to chewing on the inappropriate object. I know that you are not supposed to strike, hit or kick a puppy because that makes him scared of people and can make him mean. I also know that rubbing their nose in where they went to the restroom is demeaning and will only make them hide their mistakes. I was just wondering if anyone had any great tips on how to potty train a puppy and how to stop him from chewing.
