He had hoped that he had died. But indeed he hadn't. When he awoke, he was stiff and could hardly remember anything. He couldn't remember what he was doing on the ridge. He remembered the long period of time that followed. He had lain listlessly upon a rocky bed, not wanting to eat the sparse grass, nor drink the dew that beckoned him. But he had lived? Why, he wondered. Why? From within the clutches of his dream, he is bathed in a great light, stirring his mind once more.
