Subject: The I don't fit in Scene

The reason I don't want to go into it is because I gave my opinon on it way back before i had seen it. My idea now is still the same . But I have to say that I really don't think Mulder thinks the baby is his. Scully is trying to tell him but his attitude puts her off. Him saying that he doesn't know where he fits in and he's trying to process everything is a kind of warning that he is not ready to deal with the baby stuff right now and so she backs off and leaves the explanations till later. Until he is ready. I don't think she realises that he doesn't think the baby is his. He doesn't realise that it is his and is not ready to know how she got pregnant. I think he wants to delay that as he has been hurt enough by finding out she is pregnant without him. I thought it strange that Mulder almost accused her of not caring about losing him and going ahead and working and getting preggers without him anyway, as if that was her only reason for wanting him around in the first place when she was trying to get pregnant. When she said about how she has him back again after finding him dead he says " You sound surprised" I really think he thought she just carried on without him and not cared . Little does he know what she went through and so I think later they must ultimately have had the much needed discussion on what she felt and how she believes the baby is his.

I really loved her look at Mulder after Langley's comment. Yes, Mulder you did have something to do with it. He was really surprised. It had not even entered his head. I think that by the end of this ep they had worked it all out and were back to being dovetailed with eachother again. Any awkwardness had rubbed off. Even Scully's Doggett-like by the book remnants that she had picked up from him.

I do like the animosity between Mulder and Doggy. I think doggy is floundering a bit with all this stuff. It strikes me as odd that Doggy has know that CIA guy for ages and yet he just accepts the guy has turned bad. Why can't he twig that the bloke is an alien or at least not his true self?

A thought I had last night was that I think Doggy should offer to sell his house to Mulder and Scully and baby. After all, one man doesn't need that huge house and Scully's apartment will not be a good place once the kid gets out of the cot.

Kind of spoilers for S8

I also had a very strange thought about that baby last night. Let's just say that M and S come to their senses and decide to finally live to gether like normal parents and raise the kid in a normal family environment. Ok Fine. BUT...... like most parents they will have the baby sleep in their room at least till it is one year old. Or less. Then most babies, if they haven't already, will move to their own room. But will Mulder and Scully be able to have that baby sleep in another room when that very bright, yet invisible to anyone else , light comes to suck the baby into the spaceship, Mulder and Scully won't kow about it. So will they ever be able to go to bed at night and rest peacably knowing that bubby is safe from the light sucking alien space craft? I think not. Love to hear some ideas on this.

Stardoe, in a mad rush. Hope this all makes sense.
