is for them to "save" Scully to appear in the episodes with Mulder and let Dogsbreath go it alone or with Annoying Smiling Agent (or with Skinner, the Lone Gunmen or, for all I care, Frank Black from "Millennium") on the other eps.
Did you ever watch those "Sunday Mystery Movies" that were on TV back in the 70s? It was always called "The Sunday Mystery Movie" but sometimes it featured Columbo, sometimes McCloud, sometimes McMillan and Wife and I think there were a few others who rotated through occasionally. They could do something similar with XF next season; the show can always be called "The X-Files" but sometimes it can feature Dogsbreath and whoever and sometimes it can be a "classic" X-File ep showcasing Mulder and Scully.
One thing that has been disappointing to me (although I kinda/sorta expected it) is that, now that Mulder's back, most of the eps are Scullylite. I want to see Mulder *AND* Scully TOGETHER!!!
I know DD has expressed a lot of interest in writing/directing another XF ep, so maybe he'll do that for next season. I can really see DD having a lot of fun with a Mulder-Scully-and-their-baby episode!
