Subject: When people claim to know more than they do about XF

Do most of you here remember how, occasionally, somebody over on the old Fox boards would claim to *KNOW* what was going to happen in upcoming eps of The X-Files. They would always say they were Gillian Anderson's cousin or Chris Carter's niece or David Duchovny's best friend or some such nonsense??
Anyway. . .I have a sort of e-mail buddy who is a big fan of my fanfic and of XF in general. I've never asked her age but I presume, from some of the things she writes, that she's a teen. Well, she has another e-mail buddy who uses the screen name David Duchovny. You're thinking, not so weird, right? I mean lots of us here on this board use names like "Scullystar" or "Scullydoc" or whatever.
HER problem is, she seems to think he's the *REAL* David Duchovny! MY problem is. . .should I try to enlighten her to the fact that it is highly unlikely that famous celebrities spend their time reading fanfic?? Is her delusion harmless or could it lead to a bad end, like the computer relationship in "2Shy"?
