Thanks Chantal. I was there - but none of my questions were put to David :-( Still at least I posed some and therefore took part. DD did say his wife was his favourite actress, although he *was* indeed kind about Gillian, saying he would miss her and everyone on the set when he finally leaves TXF.

I think DD did sound jovial and I also liked that he said he liked having on-line chat with the fans because he thought the questions were varied and in some ways better than the sort he gets from journalists. At the end, he stayed on longer than his allotted time, because he was surprised at how quickly the hour was up. He even seemed to lurk briefly when Canal Chat's moderator and question poser had left the scene. Did I detect a moment of wanting to stay connected with 'the people'? He kept on saying 'bye' to everyone in a really sweet way.

I can't help thinking that Evolution is a strange project for someone to choose who is trying to escape the ET label. He was asked by someone during the chat if the theme of Evolution wasn't a mite too similar to TXF and would be a little type casting. He said it was a transitional role! He didn't think he needed a transitional roel when he did 'Return to Me'. So I thought it was a strange answer.

He confessed to being a fan of seventies rock! Wow - like - far out man! Someone asked him if had time to write poetry these days and he said that person knew him well, as though fans in general weren't aware of his poetry writing. That isn't so - I think everyone knows he does that. However, as with a lot of questions which were put to him about his leisure time activities, he said lack of time was a huge factor. Anyway, I won't ramble on, cos I'm sure people will be able to catch up on a real translation. I was just very happy to be there!
