I think with Neighbours etc they are addictive coz you always want to see what happens the next night. I know if I turn on Neighbours or Home and Away, I find I sit down and watch it the next night and the next night etc until I come to my senses and break the cycle. Watching those shows is like stickybeaking and spying on real people, the curiosity gets the better of us. Human nature I guess. It must be aliens trying to cash in on this human weakness and use it to pre-occupy us while they do their taking over. They must be using a similar technique as as they did in Wetwired when they mesmerised Scully with the television. Yes, you've got it , Det. Good Work.
