I hadn't remembered that you liked this one so much. It's hard to believe that some philes consider this episode to be a horrendous piece of garbage. Maybe they just didn't get it. I missed some of the things you mentioned. Don't know about the B E thing. DD said in an interview that he wanted this episode to be his swan song to the series. I think the biggest shame after this and The Unnatural is that DD wasn't more directly involved in developing the course of the show and,in particular, Mulder and Scully's characters. I think CC has lost some focus in some respects of that and if he'd been a bigger man he might have swallowed his pride and asked David, "Where do YOU think things should go?"

The biggest mystery of all is how DD could have missed that question on Who Wants to Be a�Millionaire about the movie "Witness" when he had a refernce to that movie in this episode!
