after your last post about it and I saw what you mean! Actually all the paintings looked like they could be M&S didn't they? It did seem intentional and it would certainly have to be. They wouldn't just say to the props dept. to decorate the place with any old paintings and then they coincidentally were all Mulder and Scullylike couples. If it was DDs idea (and as director he would have some say in the matter) I say bravo! to DD for that subtle and clever reference.
