between Minnesota and North Dakota. Nice place but awfully windy. Because Minnesota is a prairie state, the cold arctic air whips down from Canada when the weather conditions are right. I grew up in Moorhead (Fargo is considered to be one of our *suburbs* ha, ha!)

Our uniforms were 1 piece white cotton, shirt style collar, snaps down the front, a very short cap style sleeve, belt with a slide buckle (which we put in the back-didn't help much with situps though,) and the legs--oh the legs of these monsters! They came with a cuff and inside the leg the actual bottom of the whole thing had elastic around it so nobody could see up our shorts. What we did was rip out the cuff and wore the "shorts" like knee-length bloomers. These stupid things had to be ironed and the cuffed thing was a real pain--the bloomer thing was so much easier to iron. We also had to put our name across the back so our teacher ccould call us by name if she needed to.

By the time I was a senior, our *advanced Phy. Ed.* uniform was a pair of navy blue, nylon-polyester, double knit shorts and matching sleeveless v-necked top. I got to wear a navy blue cotton t-shirt though because my back broke out from the v-necked top. Needless to say, these looked a whole lot better! Most of the schools here don't use uniforms for Phy. Ed. anymore--kids wear shorts and t-shirts.

What were yours like? :)
