Subject: Ladies and Gentlemen...It's the Beetles! Let's hear it for them! Ew! Ew! Ew!... But where was Ringo?...

Well even though I HATE all those creepy crawlies and was dreading this one because I knew it had buggies and maggots in it I ended up liking this one a lot! :-) This is the best MOTW I've seen in quite awhile!

Unlike Scullystar ;-) I wasn't sure what the heck was going on. This one had me guessing. I thought it was a really clever plot too. A bit of The Insider mixed in and some strong views on the dangers of smoking and second hand smoke.

And then I got even more of a bonus. Look! It's a Mulder in jeopardy episode! And a worried Scully! And a hand hold for all the shippers! What more could anyone ask for! Did anyone notice Scully's different hairstyle? She had her hair tucked behind her ear. Is that because Mulder put it there last week when they were on the couch so she thought she'd leave it that way since he seemed to like it? ;-) hee hee.

I liked the big corporation guys with their hush hush additude. Nice and evil. I wonder if any of them know The CSM? I thought Weaver seemed a bit unrealistic and cartoonish in the beginning but I thpought he was pretty good in his last scene. I liked Mulder and Skinner showing their FBI badges twice when the guy refused them entry. Hello? We're FBI! You're supposed to let us right in fella! Sheesh!

And when Scully said she had a friend who could look into those bugs why didn't Mulder jump in and say, "Hey I know! Let's call Bambi!" We could have gotten a good glaring look from Scully for that one! This ep did remind me of War of the Coprophages a lot. Gee, I wonder why?

I did have to cover my eyes quite a bit. These bugs just gross me out! Eeeeeew! And poor dear Mulder! He's all full of bugs and worms! Help! There were some sweet scenes between the two of them. I liked the bit at the end with nicotine filled Mulder tempted to start smoking and Scully urging him not to. This ep was written by a couple of new guys and I thought they did a pretty good job all around. An intriging story with some good shady characters, some more Skinner for a change, and some nice, unexpected MSR to boot!

Ok I'm sure others will end their post this way but I'll do it anyway...

Toodles!

det :-)
