I don't know why the eps by DD, GA and WBD weren't all shown in sweeps months. They should have promoted the heck out of all of them. Even last year The Unnatural was in April rather than May. My guess is it has to do with the actor's schedules and when they will be able to direct the eps.

We seemed to have a lot of comedic, lite eps in a row during a period of Season 6 too. I don't know if there is any plan to that or if it just works out that way. Maybe whatever gets written first determines the order.

I think the shippy stuff or stuff geared toward Mulder and Scully's deepening relationship near the end is because it's leading somewhere. It should have been more gradual throughout the entire season but I think this bit at the end is to show their bond is growing even more. So I kind of like having them at the end. Plus we know DD, GA and WBD are all shippers so since their eps were done toward the end, which was probably a scheduling thing, we got shippy at the end.

It was just weird that we had all that flirty stuff with Rush and TGV and then it disappared. My guess with that is there was some repercussions with the Donnie Pfaster shooting. Didn't Scully's mood change a lot after that? And we know Mulder had some disagreement about Scully's actions in that. Maybe they had some things to work out so that was a rough period for them.

detoured, doing a lot of guessing!
