I for one was not favorably impressed with Scully in this episode. I think it was good that Gillian acknowledged that Scully is not a saint, but while this was a Scully introspective I didn't come to love her character more because of the ep.

So, did she or didn't she? I think it was obvious that the relationship did take some time. There had obviously been a lot of effort to hide it. While it's possible that there wasn't any sex in the affair, I think it's most likely that there was. C'mon- young, beautiful student, professor that thinks he's in love with her... they were probably sleeping together.

I agree with Maggie about Scully's decision to leave being cowardly. As Maggie said, Scully could walk away, but Daniel and his family couldn't and had to deal with the mess Scully left behind. Scully did what was good for her and didn't think of anyone else (which is actually consistent with her behavior throughout this episode).

Also, this wasn't the point of this post but there were more not very nice things that Scully did in this ep. Did she have to be so rude when Mulder was showing the slide show of the crop circles? Her damn salad wasn't that interesting! And, IF (I-F) she did sleep with Mulder that night, why oh why would she leave in the morning? That really hurts my feelings. Unless she was going out to buy breakfast or something- that's the only excuse I would take. But if she was leaving for any other reason-- why?

hairytoes, who doesn't think Scully's very nice
