Subject: X-Files is getting better and better this season

A lot of you probably know that at the beginning of S7 I was disenchanted, to say the least. I was saying to myself that if S8 would be like S7 it would be best to end it after S7. But as the episodes go on and on I find each new one endearing itself to me more than the one prior.

En Ami was an absolutely wonderful episode. I hung on every word. I think that Scully-centric episodes are almost always wonderful. Maybe it's because so many more focus on Mulder that when we get a Scully one it's refreshing. Or maybe it's because GA is such a wonderful actress and she really gets to show it off when she's the main character of the episode. All I know is Scully-lite episodes always seem tedious (think Zero Sum) while Mulder-lite ones are compelling (think Never Again).

I agree with everyone about Mulder having no right to be angry with Scully. As many times as he's ditched her in the name of the higher good he could learn to take what he dishes out. It was completely obvious that he was pissed at her when they were in his apartment with TLG, but I think by the time it was over he wasn't mad at her, but I sensed he thought her to be a little naive with his "he used you" speech. How many times has Mulder been used?

There is only one thing that bothered me about this episode (besides the fact it didn't feature Krycek): CSM throwing the disk into the water at the end. I wasn't sure what the point of that was. He went through all of that to save himself, but what, he couldn't go through with it in the end? What were we supposed to learn from CSM in that scene? On one hand it seemed that perhaps he didn't want to save himself because he realized how horrible he was, but on the other hand it was horrible because now that cure was gone from the public forever, which was the reason Scully was interested in it in the first place. Can anyone explain what we should think because of this scene?

Also, on a more practical note, that information would spell demise for the world. If disease didn't exist, the popluation would explode at such a rate that the earth couldn't sustain it (Yes, things such as that are what occur to me when I watch TXF).
