This ep was interesting because of the mental battle that Mulder had with John Barnett and the taunting that went on, plus harking back to the earlier case, where Mulder had made a judgment which he later thought was wrong (the shooting incident). Barnett knew just how to push the right buttons to make Mulder feel bad and put him off pursuing the case!
