I am definitely one of those who feel that Mulder and Scully did eventually become romantically/sexually involved. I don't know which episodies you've seen but the final scene of the final episode of season eight seemed to *STRONGLY* indicate that they were lovers. Since I am, like Scully, a Catholic, I'd like to believe they got married, too, but there's honestly been no indication of that.
