G'day all. She drawls in her best John Wayne impression.
"John Wayne doesn't say G'day" everyone exclaims.
"Oh well" says Stardoe. " then Howdy. "
"That's better" all in unison.
Bubba picks a few bits of hay out of Stardoe's hair [where she has obviously been rolling in it] and hands them to Kande. Kande levels them up , breaking one off to make it the short straw. She holds them out to the others after shuffling them around behind the bar.
"I'll go first" says the proud [and somewhat conceited] mayor. She draws. The long straw. "Oh dratt!" says she and sits dejectedly on a keg in the corner. Next is Rabid. "Oh let it be me, oh let it be me " she silently prays. She draws. "Oh no!" she wails. "It's not me!" and runs from the room. Next is JD. The long straw again. Everyone is beginning to think KAnde has rigged the whole straw drawing competition. Then it is CW's turn. Her hands shake as she nervously draws out another LONG straw! "KAAANDEEEEE!!!!" They all yell. Kande gazes down at the last two straws. "I never did nothin'" she insists. "Look there are still TWO more. Someone's gotta get the short one. Who's next? Stardoe?"
Stardoe comes out of her day dream. "Huh? Oh no. I don't need to draw. I paint. Ha ha ha ha ha. "
Noone laughs at this very lame joke. Stardoe sighs.
"I'm going to go anyway. Whoever goes is gunna need protection right? So hurry up and decide before I go on my own. "
Islandgirl steps up to Kande. They all "OOOOhh" with wonderment at the thought of Islandgirl bravely daring to go off to investigate the doings on Mount Krycek. She gingerly holds our her hand and plucks a straw from Kande's tightly clenched fist.
SHORT!!!!! They all scream. Islandgirl is shocked. "Oh no, she thinks. Not me. I was only doing it for show. I never held designs about actually going. "
Everyone congratulates Islandgirl on her bravery and dedication to their dear friend KS.
"Well, there's no time to waste," yells Kande. She races off to ready islandgirl's pack. Stardoe heads off to load up the takhis and saddle Alexandra and [here she gives a sob and a sniff] dear IOT's trusty steed, Walter Sergei for Islandgirl to ride. She packs many boxes of ammo and various poisonous slithery crawlies for the dangerous task ahead. "That Islandgirl," she thinks " never knew she had itin her. Thought it was all in her books. Well, as they say, everyday 's a school day"
She begins to sing as she adapts a famous poem to the situation at hand.

There was movement at the station , for the word had passed around.
That Islandgirl was heading out of town.
To join the loyal Stardoe who was worth a thousand pound While the towns folks gathered all around.
All the tried and noted writers from the forums near and far
Had gathered at the town square over night.
To wish their fanfic guru all the very best,
And gaze longingly as she trots off out of sight.
