You folks need to have a look at some other schools. Maybe you're not aware that Mr. Abbott is not at UCHS full time. The man (who has been marvelous for UCHS, imho) is retired from Blount County schools. As such, he is only allowed to work so many days a year, and draw so much pay. He was brought in to help ease the transition regarding having new principals. He has taught in other systems, brings a lot of experience to the table, and is calm, humorous and fair to everyone. 2 full-time principals for a school of 900 and 1 principal who is there intermittently is not too much. And while we're on the subject, Halls High school has a guidance counselor for every grade. They have a population of 1078. I'm pretty sure they have 3 principals, at least they did when my daughter went there a few years ago.
