Well, they tell the kids in school that cigarettes are drugs because, well, nicotine is classfied as an addictive drug. Ever talk to someone who has tried to kick the habit?
Keeping kids off drugs, including cigarettes, is really important. And it should not matter who it offends. Mom and dad need to wake up and smell the coffee - or their bad breath or their clothes and hair - and realize that they set a really bad example to their kids when they smoke.
The poorest people in our county cannot afford their medications yet spend an average of $1000-$2000 a year on their addiction to cigarettes. How is that for setting priorities?
One fellow who quit took the money he would have spent on cartons and put it into an envelop and at the end of a year bought himself a first class computer and printer with all the bells and whistles. Something he had been convinced he could not have afforded before.
