Far off in the distance, Hawk spotted a familiar gray personage. Starfyre eyes rimmed with crystalline tears, as they had when he had first met. But tears of joy they were not. Quite the contrary in fact .. and the forlorning ache in the little mare's heart was bading her to turn and go to him.

But how can I? After all the stupid things I've done, he'd never take me back, she thought drearily. And with a determined note in her mind, added, I have to try.

She lifted her almost too-long legs and sprinted off towards Silver Moon. Arriving promptly beside him, Hawk lifted her muzzle and nuzzled his shoulder softly, her Starfyre -&- Moonshyne eyes pleading condonance ..

Silver Moon, I'm so sorry. I just .. I can't do it. I can't leave you. No matter how much that .. that Silver will try, she can't get this little copper mare to part with her one true love.

Hawk smiled - as much as a horse could - before brushing her whiskery muzzle against Silver Moon's own .. a last attempt for forgiveness ..
