If you want to do it right, I recomend that you put aside a few years of your life to learn how to fold metal several times so you can make a lightweight but durable blade, then If you want to do the full monty I would recomend learning gunsmithing from a company (I went through American gunsmith but I have yet to try any proper gunsmithing) Then after enough pratice you might have sold enough swords and fixed enough guns for people that you will have a nice amount of money to put into the gunblade. This is the best way (I personaly would like to do it this way so that if anything goes wrong I can fix it) But it will take several years to master not only making, but engraving the blade, If you need reference for a gun melee weapon I recomend you look up the German Gun axe, it had faults but it would be the best starting point for making a Gunblade.
