Subject: Samantha question (contains spoilers for late in Season 7)

Okay, maybe this was asked and answered right after "Closure" first aired but, if so, I don't remember what was decided.
If the "real" Samantha died at the age of 14, who were those fake Samantha's we saw in "Colony/End Game" and "Redux II"?? Clones? The Alien Bounty Hunter??
If they were clones, were they cloned from the real Samantha's DNA; that is, were they actual replicas of what Samantha *WOULD* have looked like, had she lived to adulthood? If they were just Bounty Hunters. . .can the Bounty Hunter just make himself look like a "generic human" are does he have to model himself on an actual human being??
