Now that there's a couple of posts he is perking up again! :-)

I don't know if CC had the whole Ray Soemes angle worked out fully in the Pilot. I think maybe it was just meant to be creepy and mysterious and what's more creepy than finding what looks like an alien (sure, Scully can think it's an oreangutan if she wants to!) buried in what's supposed to be a human grave? Maybe Ray is still up in space somewhere and the aliens put one of their own corpses in the casket to cover their tracks.

Or maybe Ray killed the alien and buried him and then took off for parts unknown. He may be wandering around soemwhere lost. I know the Pilot was supposed to be based on actual accounts of abductees so it may have involved elements of things CC had heard about. CC probably didn't know how this show would take off and be so successful so everything probably wasn't worked out in the beginning. We may never see poor Ray Soames again!

Which books are you looking for on tape? Books on tape are becoming big business lately. I think you can find sites online with lots of titles. Recently I helped out a guy who worked for a company that records books for the blind and they were doing the Anne Simon book about the science of The X-Files. He needed help with some the pronuciations of the characters and other terms.
