Maybe I was just in a bad mood, but I wasn't overwhelmed with TLG. Entertaining enough, and I'll certainly keep watching, but it wasn't quite what I expected.

At first, the music reminded me of XF. Then they started in with some electric guitar stuff, which after awhile I found distracting and even a bit annoying.

I didn't like Byers' father. I didn't think the actor did a very good job.

I wonder if the female character is what Fox originally had in mind for Scully. I'm withholding judgment on her for now.

That said, there were things that had me cracking up, like when the assassin slipped and shot himself. Frohike was a riot, like always.

I give it a tentative thumbs up.
