The Nielsen raters that is. I don't watch NBC, CBS and ABC (other than the show CSI) because everything else on those stations is pathetically boring and totally inane. At least TLG make you think before you laugh and if you only watch stupid sitcoms elsewhere, you won't even come close to catching the double meanings most of their comedy has. A lot of things they refer to are in literature or on the news. There's a term I heard a while back--the dumbing down of America and I am becoming more and more of a believer in that. It's irritating to watch a show where there is a laugh track or a comedic pause to let you know that the writers thinik you should laugh at something they think is funny. Half the time it isn't even humorous IMHO anyway. Oh well--enough ranting!
