The main way that I thnk he's like Bill is that they are both very by the book, military types and they both think the whole alien thing is ridiculous.

But I don't think Doggett is condescending in his treatment of Scully at all. I also think he has great respect for her. IG you should have seen how he stuck up for her in that episode about the subway. He told everyone that she was the boss and they should do as she says. Now that's not like Bill at all.

And SMH I too think it's ok for men to be caring and protective. I think the feminist movement went too far in some ways.

I think both Skinner and Doggett were wrong in keeping Scully from Mulder. Even if he was decaying and his skin was falling off they should know how important it was for her to see him.
