Subject: RP's changing attitude toward his work on "XF"

Most of us remember the pre-season "XF" article in "Entertainment Weekly" where Robert Patrick was talking about how wonderful it was to be part of a TV series, how excited he was to have steady work, etc. While he didn't come right out and *SAY* it, the implication seemed to be that starring in a one-hour drama was a piece of cake and that DD was a bit of a wimp for complaining about the toll such a grueling schedule was taking on his family life.

Just recently, I came across another interview with RP on the Associated Press Entertainment Wire and he seems to be singing a slightly different tune now! In this article, he was talking about how "difficult" it was to film three hour-long XF eps a month, how it's been an "adjustment" for him to get used to the frantic pace of TV production when he's used to the more relaxed pace of movie work, etc. In other words, he was sounding kind of like DD!

The funny thing about this is:

1.) RP's schedule is *EASY* compared to either DD's first or last season of filming "XF". In Season One, DD shot 24 episodes. . .and they were filmed in Canada! (No offense to any Canadians; but as DD himself pointed out it simply wasn't his home - his family and friends were all in the U.S.) In Season Seven, DD shot 22 episodes, plus wrote and directed an episode. All RP is being asked to do is film a mere 20 episodes, with no writing and directing duties.

2.) It took DD at least three seasons to start complaining publicly about the strain of working on "XF". RP hasn't even completed a single season and apparently the workload is already beginning to get to him.
