In reply to: detoured 's message, "According to the articles I read..." on 20:13:40 02/13/01 Tue

3 new titles include:

`Like Water For Octane,` `Three Men And A Smoking Diaper,` and `Madam I`m Adam.`

It looks like there'll be 12 eps.

I copied this from Fandom, there's also the entire interview at fandom.com/x-files

gunmen sorta-spoilers:

>Lone Gunmen, according to Spotnitz, "You`re going to learn a lot more about who these guys are. It`s been teased, but really the most you`ve learned about them were in the two episodes that featured them -- Unusual Suspects and Three Of A Kind, but you really get a much better sense of who they are, what matters to them, where they came from, what their lives are like and the types of stories they write for their newspaper. The mythology unfolds very slowly because we felt like after eight years of The X-Files that people don`t want to get hit immediately with a whole another complicated thing. It`s kind of hinted at in the first twelve episodes and then in the final episode of the season, you really get a sense of what it is."

Spotnitz spoke more about the mythology of The Lone Gunmen, saying, "The mythology of the show centers around the new character, this woman Yves Adele Harlow. Yves Adele Harlow is an anagram for Lee Harvey Oswald. We don`t really know what her real name is and she`s a mystery woman. So, the mythology is about her, where she came from, why she does what she does. What they fight against are people who... it`s the real-life bad guys of the world. The very powerful people who make bad things happen across the globe and that’s where the mythology`s going."

While speaking of Gunmen plot lines, Spotnitz said, "The super-intelligent chimp idea was great because it was like an X-Files episode gone wrong. It`s the type of story you’d love to do on The X-Files, but you can`t because it’s too ridiculous, so it was perfect for The Lone Gunmen. Honestly, that’s what a lot of these stories end up being – things that we`d have loved to do on The X-Files, but we really couldn`t because we couldn`t do it with a straight face. But the Gunmen can. We were just discussing a story idea yesterday that we’re not going to do, but Vince was saying, "what if the Teletubbies were real? They’re not costumes! What if they were real?" That`d be a great Lone Gunmen story. That`s why it’s so much fun. It`s a cousin to The X-Files, yet it`s completely different. If the idea of the episode makes you smile, then it’s probably a good episode."

Spotnitz then went on to speak about The X-Files, saying that he would be directing the still-untitled episode nineteen, which will be the show`s last standalone episode this season before a two-part finale. <
