I rented this a year or two ago, primarily just to see DD. The movie itself was kind of confusing and not, IMHO, all that interesting.
DD had a fairly minor role as cop with a crush on a stripper, and I thought he handled it well. The only other aspect that I enjoyed about the movie was the depictions of 1960s-era Texas, since that when and where I spent my early childhood.
BTW, as far as getting movies confused. . .I'm *always* confusing "The Perfect Storm" and "Storm of the Century". One had George Clooney as a commercial fisherman and one is based on a Stephen King novel, but I never know which one is which.
