The chances of me personally doing your background check are just about zero. Even though I work for the same business unit that does D.C. my office only conducts investigations for Baltimore, the surrounding suburbs, and the eastern shore. There is another office in D.C. that handles all of the checks in D.C. And on the off chance that you used to live/work/go to school in the Baltimore area, or you have a very close friend/former co-worker/classmate who lives in the Baltimore area, as soon as I saw your name I'd have to go to the District Manager and have her re-assign the case to someone else because we are strictly forbidden to work the case of anyone we're even superficially acquainted with.

As far as my company, the chances are VERY good that we'll do the background investigation. We do almost all background checks for the federal government and government contractors. Depending on the agency you're getting the clearance with, of course. OPM handles federal background investigations of almost all government agencies, and we have the contract for OPM. The FBI, the CIA, the Secret Service, and all presidential appointees have their own internal groups that handle the background investigations.

Wow, that was long and boring :-)

Now, about all things (to stay on topic), it sucks that the people next door were disturbing the peace! I have neighbors who like to throw water balloons back and forth across the street, sometimes hitting the poor little girl next door to me and then I have to yell at them. Hmm...that had nothing to do with all things. But I can't wait to watch it when I get home!
