...it almost seemed like she was preparing her speech for winning the nobel prize. Maybe it's just me, but she seemed to be excited not only at the discovery but that *she* was the one who discovered it.

I'm quite certain Scully would have given an excellent speech. "My dear subjects. Today you have finally chosen to bestow this award upon a worthy scientist - me. All I can say is that, after seven years of similar scientific work, it's about time!"
