People on my mailing list we saying something about how GA could get paid for season 9 even if there is no season 9! A very good financial move on her part.

It bothers me that she previously stated she would never do the show without DD so her resigning is puzzling. DD returning is doubtful although you never know!

But GA could have been offered a bundle and think that she may not even have to work one day for it.

I'm thinking another idea�might be that she would appear in Season 9 on a VERY limited basis. Maybe even just as a transition to usher in The X-Files:The Next Generation and then Scully would leave.

CC already said this year GA needed to spend more time with her daughter so she and CC may have worked something out.
GA being in Season 9 might just be a 'hello and goodbye' from Scully and then an exit off into the sunset (perhaps with an off screen Mulder). Maybe the two of them will open up their own business...
