Even though I agree it should. Not all parents and kids are close but Dana and her mom are. It seemed all right in this case though because Mrs. S knows Dana's work schedule can be strange and she doesn't see her for long periods of time. But then again with Dana's hralth record you'd think they'd keep tabs on each other. Maybe her mom had mentioned a possible out of town trip but wasn't sure. Still, even if she was out of town Dana should still be able to reach her in an emergency.

Ah well. What can you expect from CC?
