Dana Scully--an enigma (possible s8 spoilers)

Let's start another thread--I have only one question and that is

How can Dr. Dana Scully, MD be so trusting when she has learned to trust no one! She doesn't trust Doggett (at least up to last night's episode Per Manum). She doesn't seem to think that the Zeus Fertility Clinic may pose a threat to her or her baby (even though Zeus was the name on the storage facility for alien hybrids.) Her sleezy doctor keeps reassuring her that her baby is fine--what we don't know if her baby is human or alien so he probably isn't lying in that respect. Why is she going to a military hospital--she has gone to other sources for information--the college researchist who was killed because she had studied the blood sample Scully brought in, is one example. It just doesn't add up.
Anybody?
