"I'm paraphrasing - he didn't say all of that word-for-word, but it's pretty much what he said and what he meant... He did definitely say I'm too grounded for you... " He started again, just gently - he felt a little bit like he was tattling on Tommy, but this was more serious than that and more he was just using what Tommy had said as help for what he wanted to say himself. Raising his shoulders in a slight shrug, he shifted his car into park and killed the engine before shifting a bit in his seat so that he was facing her. "Maybe sometimes, but that's not really the important thing, I don't think. What I'm getting at, Keila, is that he was right that basically I'm a realist and you're a dreamer... But I think he was wrong because I think we complement each other more than contradict." He assured her, his fingers brushed back her hair before dropping to her knee. He felt terribly guilty for saying all this in the car at such a random moment, but he couldn't stand to put it off any longer. "I think the most important thing though, Keila, is that I love you like no one else will ever love you. I know I never say it and I know sometimes I definitely haven't acted like it, but that's the honest-to-god truth. And I'm also really sorry this is happening right now, here like this...." He added sheepishly with a slight, apologetic frown - though maybe somehow it was fitting that after all these years this conversation would be had at the most random time at a totally random location. Or maybe he was just trying to justify his terrible timing... He totally owed her a romantic dinner after this if all went well, that was for sure.
