I'm not sure about Sam's family--there was something mentioned earlier in the series but I don't think they are in the picture. He was a Navy Seal and now has a dangerous job. My guess is that she lives elsewhere or else they are both dead. Maybe there will be a memorable episode sometime about Sam's family. Right now the family focus is on Callen and his mysterious background.

As for the CSI shows, each one is uniquely different in its focus. Miami has an underlying theme of finding Marisol's killer. New York lost Stella--there was something in EW about why she left and I remember right, it relates to New Orleans and Katrina's devastation. I do like Stella's replacement who seems to be the the current mystery for NY. As for Vegas, there are a number of smaller things going on in that series.

Eric and Nell are my guess for the next "couple." She keeps him on his toes and I think intrigues him as well. Kensie and Deeks have a way to go but then it only takes one episode to change everything. Dominic and Nathan weren't very strong characters to begin with. Their characters didn't provide a whole lot of interesting possibilities for the show.
