I was a bit surprised that she, as a medical doctor wasn't careful. Of course there are plenty of babies as a result of a one night's activities shall we say.

She had wanted Booth to father a child for her a few seasons back but he turned her down. His reason was that he wanted to be a part of his child's life--not just a picture or a visit now and then. He had proposed to her but she turned him down, something she grew to regret when he found someone else. We have seen Bones grow as a human being over the past few seasons--developing and recognizing feelings for what they are. I am hoping this is just another step for her. I also think she might be afraid to be a mother as hers was killed when she was young.
