One thing that has surprised me is how much Finch has actually taken part in the cases. I thought he would just sit in front of a computer and supervise, but so far we've seen him help hide a girl from assassins and infiltrate a bank robbery to warn Reese of a betrayal.

I'm not saying this is a bad thing. In fact, it probably makes the show more interesting than if Reese was the only one doing any legwork.
