Yeah, the swim relay was exciting. I think Michael Phelps will do better now that he is no longer under pressure to break Mark Spitz's gold medal count record. I also enjoyed the gymnastics.
As for our football preferences: we were big Houston Oilers fans for decades, as my husband and I both grew up in the Houston area. However, they moved to Tennesse about eight years ago and changed their name to the Titans, so then we switched our allegiance to the Dallas Cowboys for a while, just kind of by default. Where we live now is closer to Dallas than Houston, so we fit right in. There's a new Houston team as of last year -- the Texans -- and now we root for them. The main thing for us, though, is high school football. Two of our kids are in high school and my husband covers it for work, so we go to all the games and know all the coaches, players, etc. High school football is just a really big deal in Texas -- especially in relatively small towns like the one we live in -- in a way that it apparently isn't for people in other states.
I did like the "alien baseball players" post.
